I would like to make a point of complimenting Sylvia who assisted me on Saturday. I received such professional and friendly service from her.

Its employees like her that make a business a success and I will be visiting again and passing my experience on to my friends and family if this is a reflection of Knightbridge spa.

Half-day Spa Experience

I bought a Groupon voucher in February 2012 for LFY Clinic for a half day spa experience for one person to the value of R1180.00 valid for 12 months.

In April I received a booking confirmation email from Knightsbridge Spa for 2 hours treatment with my booking number. I tried to make contact with Knightsbridge Spa but no luck.

So be it I went to Knightsbridge Spa on Friday. Well what an horrific experience which I would not wish on anyone.

From being served warm juice, no heater in the treatment room, no electric blanket, no blankets even - I was freezing. There was not even a gown, slippers or disposable underwear.

Remember now I bought a half day spa experience - well 2 hours later I was out of there with no full body massage, no lipo treatment, no light lunch and no bubbly. In those 2 hours that I was there I had been left for almost 15 minutes between my express facial and back massage. It was a horrific experience and places like Knightsbridge Spa should be closed down.

I made contact with the owner and he said that I must please listen to him as he is paying for the call on his cellphone. Can you believe it from a business owner! Please if you are thinking of having a treatment at Knightsbridge Spa - think again.

Groupon must have had many complaints about Knightsbridge Spa because without me even asking for a refund they informed me that they will be reimbursing me for this voucher. Thanks to Groupon.

Good day,

I don't like writing e-mails like this, but unfortunately the facility needs to know why they do not get a lot of business.

I do frequent spa days and unfortunately my exprience last night with Knightsbridge was really not professional. the therapists were really friendly, but the professionalism was lacking.

Firstly they only started our treatment at 5:45, when we were booked for 5:30. The beds are really old and I could see the leather that is tearing. I had to lie on a towel that does not even cover the bed and it is freezing. I did not relax during my massage, because it was so cold in the room(no heaters were on) During my massage the therapist had to leave, because someone was calling her and she was pushing on the bed while she was massaging me.(like she was tired)

My mini-pedi was filing and painting my toe nails. Did not even put top coat on the nails, only two layers of quitex. My mini-facial no explanation of their product on it is a Italian product.

Were is the professionalism, the education and the relaxation.

I hope by this feedback that the facility would really relook at training staff and adding the extra touch to the facility. It is really a nice spa and have a lot of potential if it is managed the right way.

Unfortunately they will not see me again.

I purchased a Groupon voucher for two people for a half day at the spa. (actually I bought 2, my girlfriend and her friend still need to go on friday...)

We arrived at the spa at 11am, our appointment was for 11:30am. so we patiently waited for 11:30am. It came and went. About 12:10pm we were shown to the changing rooms. Nobody ever came to tell us they are running late or that they are busy, we just sat there.

The first thing I noticed is that the robes that they give the new clients have been used. And the slippers that they had on offer was about 6 sizes too small for me. It was really a small slipper and only a 7 year old child would be able to fit in this.

Bravely ignoring this I moved on hoping that the treatments would be good. There I was in my robe (half naked) being led past the foyer (reception area) and other waiting clients to my treatment room. Got to my treatment room and was asked to take my robe off so that the seaweed wrap could be applied, I did so and to my surprise the room was colder than it was outside, between 9 and 10 degrees. Moving on, the wrap was applied cold. After being in the wrap for about 15min the plastic was removed and I was told to take a shower to get rid of the wrap. Guess what? I had to take a cold shower. No hot water.

Still being optimistic I was looking forward to my full body massage and I must say my therapist knew what she was doing, very well done. But I was still freezing. The massage oils were applied cold. I have never had this before. Usually they heat up the oils so as to keep the client nice and warm and relaxed.

The worst thing about this whole experience is that I took my mother there to say thank you for helping me out with something and really wanted to treat her. She was freezing and I believe this was one of her worst experiences ever.

At the end of it all we didn't even stay for the "snack platter" as we saw what the other people were getting. We got dressed and I sent an email to my contact at the spa to tell her that I was very disappointed in the service, had no reply so I decided to see if I can't get someone online who has more of a management roll.

So, don't waste your money on that spa. Stay at home and order a pizza and a bottle of wine. I promise you it will be a lot cheaper and you will be a lot happier afterwards.
